Review Date: 01/2025Note: this cuvée is mostly from La Charmotte and Au Chouillet, with bits and pieces from Aux Saints Jacques, Les Charmois, Les Maladières, Les Chaliots and Les Brûlées plus a few others too small to mention. An ultra-fresh nose speaks of ripe red and dark berries plus an abundance of earth character. There is better volume and density to the energetic medium weight flavors where the supporting tannins are unusually fine in the context of what is typical for a Nuits villages. Excellent and worth your interest.*Burghound Outstanding Top Value!*

A fine even purple, with immediate fresh raspberry fruit, crunchy but still really structured, much darker fruit behind. Rugged not rustic, with decent length. A solid, concentrated, Nuits-St-Georges. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Nov 2024.

The 2023 Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes offers up aromas of sweet cherries and berries framed by a deft touch of new oak, followed by a medium-bodied, fleshy and giving palate that's somewhat reminiscent of the domaine's charming 2017.
Domaine Robert Chevillon is one of the Côte d'Or's stalwart, producing hearty, characterful wines that stand the test of time. Old vines, cultivated soils, moderate yields and long macerations at comparatively high temperatures with entirely destemmed grapes are the order of the day at this address, with the Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes seeing some 20% new oak and the premiers crus 30%. Nuits's Tonnellerie Sirugue is the dominant supplier of barrels. The 2023 vintage has turned out nicely at this address, delivering wines somewhat reminiscent of a riper version of the 2017s, and with a suppleness that somewhat tempers the habitually more structured cuvées in the cellar, which this year have performed especially well.(WK)

The 2023 Nuits AC bottling chez Chevillon is outstanding this year. The bouquet is deep, pure and classy, wafting from the glass in a mix of red and black cherries, pigeon, woodsmoke, a lovely base of soil, peonies, nutskin and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focusedand deep at the core, with fine soil transparency, ripe tannins and fine length and grip on the complex and very well balanced finish. Fine juice. 2035-2075+.
