2008 Domaine Georges Mugneret Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru "Les Feusselottes"
93
John Gilman
Review Date: 01/2011The 2008 Feusselottes was also showing beautifully at the time of my December visit. The nose is deep, pure and quintessentially Chambolle, as it jumps from the glass in a blaze of cherries, strawberries, orange zest, roses, complex soil tones, coffee, woodsmoke, a touch of mustard seed and a lovely framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and tangy, with a fine core of fruit, stunning transparency, ripe tannins and a long, tangy finish. One could not ask for a better bottle of Chambolle premier cru! 93+

The 2008 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes is notable for many outstanding qualities, starting with its totally striking, captivating bouquet. Firm yet elegant tannins frame the fruit in this hugely promising yet very young wine. The balance is simply first-class, suggesting the future is very bright. (AG) 93+

A classic Chambolle nose of high-toned and wonderfully airy red raspberry, sour cherry, blue berry and discreet spice hints introduce rich, delicious and generous medium-bodied flavors that retain a fine sense of detail on the firm and sappy finish that displays an attractive delicacy while it's lingering. Lovely juice. *Outstanding*
