2021 Domaine Hauvette "Cornaline" Alpilles Rouge

Domaine Hauvette, located near Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in the foothills of Les Alpilles, was founded in the early 1980s by Dominique Hauvette, a former lawyer who sought a life closer to nature. The estate’s 40-year-old vines grow in clay and limestone soils, benefiting from the arid climate, Mistral winds, and surrounding garrigue. Dominique, a pioneer of the natural wine movement, farms biodynamically and takes a non-interventionist approach in the cellar, fermenting with native yeasts in wood tanks, using light punchdowns, and aging the wine in foudre without fining or filtering. The flagship red is a blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and her wines are celebrated for their purity, character, and benchmark status in natural winemaking.
