The 2021 H Block Hudson Vineyard is composed of 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it tumbles from the glass with expressive notes of Morello cherries, mulberries, and boysenberry preserves plus wafts of fallen leaves, spice cake, and unsmoked cigars. The full-bodied palate is completely coated with black fruit preserves and spicy sparks, supported by firm, ripe, rounded tannins and well-knit freshness, finishing with impressive length. (LPB)

The 2021 Red Wine H Block Hudson Vineyards checks in as 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% Merlot that was raised in two-thirds new French oak. It's a more closed, structured wine built for the cellar, but it has beautiful dark, almost blue fruits, some violet and floral notes, lots of building tannins, and medium to full-bodied richness. Don't think about opening bottles for at least 4-6 years. 94+
