2012 Renato Corino "Arborina" Barolo
94
Vinous
Review Date: 03/2016A broad, powerful wine 2012 Barolo Arborina offers notable richness and intensity for the year. Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco, white pepper and dried herbs blossom in a large-scaled, big Barolo built on volume. The balance of aromatics, fruit and tannin is compelling. Hints of spice, blood orange and white pepper add an attractive element of exoticism as the Arborina continues to flesh out. (AG)

Notes
Arborina is one of La Morra’s recognized Barolo crus, and Renato Corino bottles it as a single-site Nebbiolo from his home commune. The estate is part of the Corino family’s long presence in La Morra, with this bottling sitting at the more site-specific end of the lineup.
