1999 Charles Cimicky "Signature" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia

1999 Charles Cimicky "Signature" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia

Notes

Karl Cimicky bought the Lyndoch property in the early 1970s and launched Karlsberg Wines in 1972. His son Charles stepped in during the 1980s after formal oenology training and gradually shifted the public identity from Karlsberg Wines to the Charles Cimicky label. He upgraded equipment, tightened fermentations, and built a focused Barossa red program around estate fruit. The property spans about 14.4 hectares and stayed mostly quiet while earning steady critical attention. A 1994 Cimicky Sauvignon Blanc reached Buckingham Palace service in 1995. Charles and his wife Jennie ran the estate until its 2018 sale, keeping production centered on careful cellar work.
