The 2011 Pergolaia is an attractive entry-level wine. Juicy and exuberant, the 2011 is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Sweet red cherry, spice and earthiness abound in an expressive, supple red. The 2011 needs time in the glass to open up for the aromatics to find a bit more focus than at the outset, but it is delicious just the same. (AG)
