1994 C. H. Berres Zeltinger Deutschherrenberg Riesling Auslese Mosel

Notes

Christoffel-Berres was a historic Mosel Riesling estate associated with the village of Erden on the Middle Mosel in Germany. It was the last of the original Geschwister Berres Erben estates and held membership in the Grosser Ring/VDP growers’ association. The winery was run by Elisabeth Berres, a granddaughter of Peter Jos. Berres, together with her husband Otto Christoffel, until their retirement in 1997. Christoffel-Berres was particularly known for wines from the famed Erdener Prälat site, working with parcels in the original part of this steep, slate vineyard. Production focused on traditional Mosel Riesling styles, including high-quality Prädikat wines, which contributed to the estate’s reputation among collectors and to the broader legacy of classic Mosel Riesling.
