The 2024 Kettmeir Pinot Bianco (Alto Adige - Südtirol DOC) is a beautifully chiseled, highly precise white that captures the cool alpine energy of the medium-to-high hillsides in Oltradige. Sourced from loose, limestone-dominant calcareous soils ranging between 400 and 700 meters above sea level, Kettmeir vinifies this entirely in stainless steel to protect the grape's natural, crystalline verticality. In the glass, it shows a pale straw yellow with shimmering greenish highlights. The nose is exceptionally clean, bright, and varietally pure, opening with mountain aromas of sliced green apples, white peach, and a touch of apricot, layered with highly fragrant floral hints of wisteria and spring blossoms, alongside a cool streak of minty garden herbs. On the palate, the wine balances a surprisingly soothing, round texture with a sudden, energetic jolt of vibrant alpine acidity. Mineral-infused orchard fruits saturate the mid-palate before yielding to a crisp, bone-dry finish defined by a persistent, delicate chalky minerality and a refreshing, salty citrus resonance.
