The 2024 Lorch Riesling is dusty and stony in its pure, salty, citrus-fresh, dense and intense nose, which represents both the stony slate terroir and the cool, slowly ripening vintage. On the palate, the Lorcher is juicy and round yet grippy and structured, with a crystalline and salty finish that is very elegant and very long. 12.5% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted at the domaine in August 2025. 2024 is an "outstanding vintage," says Eva Fricke. It is a vintage of contrasts—unstable, with constant temperature fluctuations and lots of rain with some heavy rainfalls—but feasible, if targeted measures are taken early on.(WK)

The 2024 Riesling Lorch was harvested on mica schist and quartzite slopes. This displays only the merest touch of petrichor and wet stone on its shy nose. The palate, however, is zestiness itself, with beautiful notions of both lemon and lime zest, almost with a hint of riper citrus like tangerine. This is beautifully taut, yet so balanced. (Dry)(AK)
