2018 Paul Hobbs "Katherine Lindsay Estate" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L)
99
Jeb Dunnuck
Review Date: 05/2020The flagship release, the 2018 Pinot Noir Katherine Lindsay Estate comes from the Russian River Valley and saw 14% stems and 15 months in 53% new French oak. Medium ruby, with notes of raspberries, spice box, dried cherries, and assorted flowery incense and tea notes, it's wonderfully complex and medium to full-bodied, with seamless tannins and a great finish. Despite coming from the Russian River, it almost has a Sonoma Coast-like style in its perfumed aromatics and beautiful elegance.

Notes
Named for Paul Hobbs' great-grandmother, Katherine Lindsay Estate is one of the winery's Russian River Valley estate Pinot Noir bottlings. The 2018 Sonoma growing season was long and even, and the magnum format makes this a cellar-minded option for buyers who follow California Pinot Noir.
