Domaines Ott, the ‘grandfathers of Provençal rosé’, were the first to produce a ‘SuperProvence’ pink, made with grapes sourced from across their three estates in Bandol and Côtes de Provence. The idea was to capture the best of each terroir, which certainly comes across in this generous, multi-layered rosé. Think white peach and rose petal and on the nose combined with ripe strawberries in cream on the palate, a touch of fennel and flourish of liquorice. This is an accomplished, but approachable rosé. Light in hue, this rosé is round and creamy in feel, featuring light wild berry and white cherry, with smoky mineral undercurrents. Shows flinty, salty depth, with white flowers, fresh-cut chives and herbs adding intrigue to the silky and persistent finish. Grenache and Mourvèdre. (KB)
