Esprit Leflaive began in 2018 as Domaine Leflaive’s small négociant project, created to explore Burgundy beyond Puligny-Montrachet and the Mâconnais. The team sources organically farmed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from long-term grower partners in Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, Beaune, and Pommard, with fruit often coming from very old vines. All harvesting is done by the Domaine Leflaive crew, and all wines are vinified in Puligny-Montrachet using the estate’s traditional approach of long, natural fermentations and extended élevage. Bottling follows two years of aging, with an additional eighteen months of cellar rest before release. The inaugural vintage was 2018, marking the start of a focused range that includes grands crus such as Corton-Charlemagne alongside select premiers crus and village bottlings.
