Based in Puligny-Montrachet, Domaine Leflaive farms its Mâconnais parcels biodynamically; the estate's Mâcon-Verzé bottlings come from vineyards in Verzé, with Le Monté treated as a distinct lieu-dit selection. This is Chardonnay from the southern end of Burgundy, outside the Côte de Beaune crus that made the domaine famous. Domaine Leflaive added its Mâconnais holdings in the early 2000s, giving the Puligny-based domaine a separate set of Chardonnay parcels to farm and vinify under the same cellar direction. The 2022 Burgundy vintage followed the very short 2021 crop with a warmer, more even growing season across much of the region.
