Beautiful lemon-tart aromas are married to an elegant creaminess and chalky minerality on the beautifully balanced, medium-bodied palate. The long, very polished finish has great subtlety. Try to be patient: It tastes really good now but certainly has an excellent future. The hazelnut and flint aromas expand with air. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

The objective in 2023 was to keep the freshness at all costs,' according to Frédéric Weber. His flagship white wine from Beaune testifies to his successful efforts with lovely, mineral-inflected ripe pear, apricot and nectarine aromas. The texture is creamy and rich, but the balance is fine enough to ensure a lingering finish. The grapes are from the Bouchard monopole of nearly 2ha on marl soils. Weber notes that the vines were planted at different times, and thus his teams picked each part separately. The end result is lush but should age well.(CC)

Electric tension lights up the palate on this medium-bodied wine with its touch of glycerol tempered by gentle chalkiness from the clay-limestone soils. Warm straw, white nectarine and sponge cake fill the ample palate. There are almost 2 ha in this historic clos, acquired by Bouchard in 1791, that has been making Chardonnay since the 13th century.

Quite a full yellow in colour, with a buttery note on the nose, yet with considerable depth behind. There is good acidity to complement the weight of this wine. White fruit and the return of some fresh butter complete the palate. Drink from 2027-2033. Tasted Nov 2025.
