The nose opens slowly like a great flower, aromas of Amalfi lemons, mandarin oranges, grilled hazelnuts and toasted baguette cascading out of the glass as the wine aerates. This starts quite gently on the very focused, medium-bodied palate. Then, just when you think it’s safe to go back in the water, a giant wave of spices and chalky minerality washes over you. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Starting with marked notes of gunpowder, the nose gently unfolds with green pear peel, baking spices, plumcots and nectarines. A sprinkling of Maldon salt graces the succulent, palate-drenching finish. The lusty, fresh fruit has easily absorbed the discreet, 20% new oak. Crystalline acidity gives the wine an impressive arc of graceful tension. Nuanced, sappy and harmonious, this is beautiful now but has excellent aging potential. This is a "true" Chevalier that is a blend of the four terraces.

Note: from a 2.54 ha parcel. Ripe yet attractively fresh aromas are comprised by notes of prominent mineral reduction, citrus confit, pear and a wonderfully broad array of floral elements. The mouthfeel of the larger-bodied and solidly concentrated flavors is positively gorgeous while brimming with the hallmark stoniness of a great Chevalier, all wrapped in a precise, firm and hugely long finale. This is an old school Chevy that is really quite stunning.*Burghound Don't Miss!*

Mid to full lemon yellow. The bouquet makes an immediate statement of sun-kissed Chevalier. Somewhat citrus, pure white fruit otherwise, the fruit develops very nicely across the palate, with medium to long finish. Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted Nov 2025.
