Patrick Ligeron's Domaine des Carlines is making an impression not only on Jura geeks, but also on fans of terroir in general. The domaine vineyard holdings lie within the Château-Chalone sub-AOC, each one delivering its own particular expression of the Chardonnay and/or Savagnin grapes. Newer additions to the portfolio include Poulsard and Pinot Noir. The Poulsard is hand harvested, hand destemmed and aged in 500L used barrels for 8 months before bottling.
