2021 Vadio Tinto Bairrada

The pale, elegant and nuanced red 2021 Tinto showcases the elegant and balanced house style of sleek reds, with a creamy touch, contained ripeness and good balance. 2021 was a very good vintage, when the destemmed grapes were put in stainless steel to ferment with indigenous yeasts and the wine matured in French oak barrels for close to two years. It has notes of wild berries, herbs and flowers, a medium-bodied palate and abundant, chalky tannins. It comes in at a contained 12.5% alcohol, with a pH of 3.49 and 5.85 grams of acidity. It should develop nicely in bottle and finish integrating the oak with a little more time. (LG)
