The Michel family’s 2024 Butteaux “Vieilles Vignes” bottling is another stunning wine in the making. The bouquet is deep and beautifully expressive today (remember, this and the grand crus had not yet been bottled), wafting from the glass in a refined combination of lime, pear, tart orange, chalky minerality, dried flowers and a topnote of citrus zest. On the palate the wine is deep, zesty and full-bodied, with the vintage’s pure and succulent fruit at the core, great soil signature and grip, a fine spine of acidity and a very long, mineral-infused and racy finish.
