The 2024 Crissante Alessandria Affresco Rosato is a beautifully transparent, high-toned rosato crafted by the Alessandria family from their historic home base in the Santa Maria hamlet of La Morra. While Crissante Alessandria is widely celebrated for their muscular, structured Cru Barolos like Capalot and Galina, this Affresco bottling serves as a vibrant, unadorned exploration of young-vine local Piedmontese varieties rooted in the estate's classic calcareous-marl soils. To lock in the wine's raw, primary energy and keep it entirely free of makeup, the hand-harvested fruit is subjected to a very brief cold maceration on the skins to bleed off a delicate shade of color. It is then fermented naturally and raised entirely in stainless steel tanks, completely bypassing wood contact to safeguard its verticality and crisp alpine focus.
