Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Malescot St. Exupéry prances out with gregarious notes of juicy blueberries and black raspberries, leading to hints of violets, mossy tree bark, and camphor. The medium-bodied palate is intense with shimmery blue and red berry flavors, supported by ripe, fine-grained tannins and great tension, finishing long and perfumed. Stunning! (LPB)

A very structured red with black currants, blackberries and chocolate aromas. It’s full and flexing, with solid tannins and a long finish. Impressive. Better than 2022?

The 2025 Malescot Saint Exupéry is classic Malescot—dark, powerful and quite brooding. Dark-toned fruit, gravel, incense, licorice, tobacco and dried herbs are delineated with serious concentration and pure, unbridled power. This backward, massively tannic Margaux is a wine for readers who can be patient. (AG)

A serious, fruit-forward wine, the 2025 Château Malescot Saint Exupéry is showing a lot of oak at the moment, yet it still brings beautiful purity of fruit. Ripe red and black fruits, spicy oak, graphite, and smoky, tobacco-like nuances all define the aromatics, and on the palate, it's medium-bodied, with a pure, layered mouthfeel and ripe tannins. I suspect it's going to integrate its oak over the course of its élevage and will be an outstanding wine.

There are few things more comforting than a great vintage of Malescot St-Exupéry, and this 2025 is firmly in that class. Aromatically, the wine hints at deeper black fruits, underpinned by Margaux’s signature floral note. On the palate, it opens with purity and poise, then builds to an explosive expression of fruit and flavor, expanding with terrific texture and detail. Well-judged acidity carries the richness effortlessly, resulting in a wine that deftly balances fruit and terroir. Jean-Luc and now Léa Zuger have done wonders with this property over the years, and this 2025 cuts no corners. When Malescot is this good—and priced this well—it’s often one of the most compelling wines to load up on during En Primeur.

Email ScottThe 2025 Château Malescot St. Exupéry delivers a compellingly dark expression of Margaux, showcasing both the ripeness of the vintage and the estate’s more classical sensibility. Deeply concentrated yet finely composed, this is a wine built on power and balance. The nose opens with intense aromas of black and wild bramble fruit, underpinned by cherry blossom and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is firm and commanding, framed by polished yet assertive tannins. A backbone of bright acid brings energy and precision to the dense fruit profile while preserving the wine’s elegance. While the wine bears all of the hallmarks of the 2025 Bordeaux vintage, Malescot St. Exupéry distinguishes itself through balance and a more traditional interpretation of Margaux terroir.

Email AndrewThe 2025 Malescot-St-Exupéry is a very compelling wine. Violet and cassis open on the nose with red berry undertones adding lift and freshness, leading to a richly layered palate of dark fruit, cocoa, licorice, and sweet cigar box. The tannins are fine yet firm, carrying the wine with an ease that is distinctly Margaux, while the finish is long and composed. This is a beautiful, complete wine with genuine depth and a clear sense of place. A solid buy.
