Review Date: 04/2024From three plots. Crimson of medium density. The nose leaps out less than the Bourgogne. An excellent intensity, with impressive weight for a village Rully, I wouldn’t have expected as much. There is interesting detail beneath, rather than staying monotone. The tannins are well integrated within this degree of fruit. Buy this if you see it. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted Apr 2024.

The 2022 Rully Rouge Village is a blend of three parcels. This has a mixture of red and black fruit and a light potpourri note in the background. The palate is well-balanced with crunchy red fruit on the entry, quite linear in style and slightly austere on the finish. It should flesh out throughout its second winter. Fine.(NM)

Discreet wood influence surrounds the ripe aromas of just turned earth and poached plum. The supple, delicious and pliant medium weight flavors are not particularly dense but they still manage to be seductive, which contrasts noticeably with the frankly rustic if lingering finish. This should also repay short to mid-term keeping.
