La Morra. Tasted blind. Maturing mid ruby with orange tinges. Sweet spice nose with hints of fruit cake and cherry fruit underneath. Quite slow on the palate with the fruit still firmly closed. Elegant palate weight, although there is quite a bit of hidden concentration underneath. The acidity is a little domineering at this stage, but this just needs more bottle age and has lots of potential. Grainy, long tannins on the finish. (WS) 17++/20 points
