Lastly, the 2020 Laird Ranch Vineyard checks in as 80% Syrah and 20% Malbec that's sourced from the Laird Vineyard outside of Santa Maria. It has a gorgeous nose of ripe blackberry fruits as well as new leather, graphite, camphor, and spring flowers. This carries to a ripe, polished, sexy wine revealing silky tannins, a layered, balanced mouthfeel, no hard edges, and a great finish. Certainly, the tannin quality here is a step up over the 2020 Paso Robles releases. (JD)
