Good deep red. Deep aromas of strawberry, currant, plum, truffle, woodsmoke and damp earth. Expansive, sweet and rich, with a truffle flavor. Very round and full in the mouth. With its strong extract and obvious richness, this has a lot of palate presence. Finishes long, lush and ripely tannic, with a hint of warmth. Much more approachable today than the '99 version. (ST)
