The 2022 Pinot Gris Eichberg Grand Cru is from the lieu-dit of Niedereich in the upper reaches of the site on limestone. The nose is shy, but the palate brings an immediate sense of baked pear, wonderfully salty and beautifully rounded, adding a slight phenolic texture. Nothing here points to a hot year. Its 6.7 g/L of residual sweetness stands against a beautiful 5.4 g/L of acidity, leaving this just off-dry and vividly fresh.(AK)
