A barrel-fermented white with floral, straw, butter and honey flavors, though it’s nicely dry with a light to medium body. Grown on marine sedimentary soil, it shows a good vein of chalky minerality in addition to ripe fruit and light oak spices on a supple, rather rich texture. Drink now or hold. (JG)

Only the second iteration of this bottling, the 2022 Chenin Blanc Horseshoe Vineyard is succulent on the nose, with bright, lifted aromas of tangerine, nectarine, citrus peels and white flowers. Slightly softer and less tensile on the palate than the Mt. Pajaro offering, it has a beautiful purity and grace, concluding on a tangy yet elegant note. This displays more depth and complexity than the previous vintage, and judging by the overall performance of white wines in this vintage, it will undoubtedly improve with a few years in the cellar. The 2022 Chenin Blanc Horseshoe Vineyard is a delight. Soft and caressing, the 2022 graces the palate with pure class. Orchard fruit, chamomile, white flowers and dried pear are all seamless on the palate. Aeration brings out gorgeous citrus and floral overtones to balance things out. This inviting, creamy Chenin can be enjoyed right out of the gate. (BN)

Whole-cluster pressed into mostly neutral oak barrels and a few stainless-steel drums where the wine ferments with ambient yeasts and goes through full malolactic conversion. Spends 1 year in barrels with no racking or stirring. Spends 6 additional months in stainless-steel tanks on the lees before bottling with no fining or filtration. 100 cases produced.Aromas of wet pavement, citrus zest and Asian pear. Stony flavours of Asian pear and pomelo mix with orange zest and a touch of honey as saline, electric acidity makes the mouth water. Crystalline and bright. (AY)
