The 2010 ‘Rocche di Castiglione’ is absolutely stunning as it immediately opens with intoxicating aromas of strawberries and cherries followed by tar, smoke, licorice, mint and spring flowers which all come together beautifully in this classy Barolo. It impresses with its gorgeous silky texture and long pretty finish that carries on for what seems like minutes. A fantastic showing, but will ultimately need some more bottle age before it hits its full stride. (JD)
