Királyudvar took shape in 1997 when Anthony Hwang acquired historic Tokaj parcels and began restoring vineyards that once supplied the Habsburg court. Early guidance from István Szepsy helped reestablish traditional practices, and collaboration with Domaine Huet later reinforced the estate’s focus on organic and biodynamic farming, completed in 2011. The holdings include grand cru sites such as Henye, Percze, Becsek, and Lapis around Mád and Bodrogkeresztúr, planted mainly to Furmint, Hárslevelu, and small amounts of Muskotály. Production spans dry, sparkling, and botrytized wines shaped by volcanic soils and long established cellar methods rooted in Tokaj’s legacy.
