Domaine des Ardoisières began in 1998 when partners cleared and rebuilt ancient terraced vineyards at Cevins, a steep schist hillside once planted in Roman times. Michel Grisard led the project, later joined by agronomist Brice Omont in 2003, who became winemaker in 2005. The estate farms roughly 12 hectares across Cevins, Saint Pierre de Soucy, and the Arbin hillside, the latter acquired in 2022 and home to old vine Mondeuse Noir. Farming follows organic and biodynamic principles, with native yeast fermentations and light filtration. Plantings include Jacquère, Altesse, Roussanne, Mondeuse Noire, Mondeuse Blanche, Persan, Chardonnay, and Gamay, all shaped by extreme alpine slopes and restored terraces. 40% Jacquère, 40% Chardonnay, 20% Mondeuse Blanche
