Beefy, leathery nose. Rich and sumptuous, with a fine depth of fruit and an unusually creamy texture - it's big-framed and bold, yet voluptuous and seductive. (Panel Tasting)

Good deep red. Reticent aromas of red fruits. Fresh and juicy in the mouth, with good ripeness and underlying structure to the chewy red fruit flavors. Finishes with slightly edgy tannins that still need a few years to soften. (ST)

Notes

Damilano began in 1890 when Giuseppe Borgogno established a small Barolo-focused cellar in the Langhe. The estate later took the Damilano name through Giacomo Damilano, who strengthened vineyard work and modernized production, setting a foundation the family’s third generation expanded after 1997. The winery now farms important Barolo MGA sites including Cannubi, Brunate, Cerequio and Liste, parcels long recognized for their Nebbiolo quality. Production centers on careful vineyard management, long fermentations and aging programs designed to highlight site character. Barolo anchors the lineup, supported by Barbera d’Asti, Langhe Nebbiolo, Arneis and Chardonnay. Operations remain family-run in La Morra with a focus on historic vineyards and disciplined cellar work.
