Review Date: 10/2022The 2021 Pinot Noir Bacigalupi Vineyard was tasted just prior to bottling. Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, it sails out of the glass with fragrant scents of roses and raspberries, followed by an array of black and red cherries, forest floor, and wild sage notes, plus a hint of damp soil. Medium to full-bodied, lifted, and so, so velvety, it has bags of bright red and black fruits leading to a long, earthy finish. (LPB)

Notes
Modus Operandi Cellars is a small-production winery founded by Jason Moore, with a focus on site-driven wines sourced from some of California’s most respected vineyards. This Pinot Noir comes from the historic Bacigalupi Vineyards, where cool Pacific influence, fog-laden mornings, and Goldridge soils have long made the region one of California’s benchmark terroirs for the variety. Farmed with an emphasis on balance and crafted with a restrained hand in the cellar, the wine reflects the aromatic lift and finely textured structure that have defined Bacigalupi fruit for decades.
