The 2021 Antithesis is a blend of 80% Merlot from Boyd Vineyard with Caldwell Syrah skins plus 20% Houyi Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it charges out of the gate with gregarious notes of redcurrant jelly, wild blueberries, and black raspberries followed by nuances of dried Provence herbs, graphite, tilled soil, and anise. The medium to full-bodied palate explodes with vibrant blue and red fruit flavors and tons of savory nuances, supported by firm grainy tannins and wonderful tension, finishing with epically long-lasting mineral and savory flavors.
