Groth was founded in 1982 in Oakville, where Dennis and Judy Groth built an estate that became one of the AVA’s benchmarks, including producing the first U.S. wine to earn a 100-point score. The winery focuses on estate Cabernet and long-term grower relationships. In 2021 Groth launched the Oakville Neighbors Series, a small-lot program highlighting single-vineyard Cabernet from trusted partners. Releases include Lincoln Creek from Ren and Marilyn Harris’s west-side site, Joe’s Spade from the Taddei family’s 20-acre vineyard, and Game Trail from the Vyborny family’s property. Each bottling is intended as a distinct expression of Oakville and is sold direct through the winery.
