The 2023 les Pruliers was still in cask at the time of my visit and was really showing beautifully. The bouquet is pure and deep, offering up a blend of cassis, dark berries, coffee bean, a lovely foundation of dark soil tones, currant leaf, smoke, cedar and a topnote of both violets and currant leaf. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and again, marvelously sappy at the core, with fine soil inflection, tangy acids, ripe tannins and a long, beautifully balanced and really quite elegant young finish. First class Pruliers in the making! (Drink between 2038-2085)

Attractively open and accessible, chunky berry fruits blend with balsamic and cigar box spiciness. The tannins feel a bit tense on the attack, then seem to settle into the toothsome fruit core as the wine glides into the mineral-led finale. Worthy of the pedigree of the vineyard!

This is open and full of sweet spices -- vanilla, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg -- along with black cherry and black currant fruit. Polished and generous, this red picks up a licorice accent on the long aftertaste. Solid and better in two to three years. Best from 2029 through 2045.

Rich purple. Very oaky on the nose, but note that this is still in wood, unracked. Sample taken from all barrels. Sturdy stuff, very Nuits-St-Georges with plums and a little suggestion of a peachier aspect, gourmand and juicy, yet with a fine clean structure at the back. I like this more and more as it progresses across the palate. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted Nov 2024.

Notes

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Lots of old vines in Pruliers – some replaced 3 years ago but there are still some from 1903… Not yet bottled: A rounder nose – again of depth – faintly cushioned and a first slightly fumé impression. Large in scale, sinuous but with a mm of cushion too. I love the texture here – velvet and the finish remains very textural – not drying. This could be a great one !!"(01/2025)
