Just a smidgeon over a hectare, this offers a flattering nose of warm charcoal, savory spice and blueberry compote. Über-plush at the core, this has becoming vinosity and just enough tannic bite to keep it in line.

An attractive vibrant purple. The bouquet is floral and juicy at the same time, much more accessible than in the past. The fruit is fully ripe, including some peaches alongside the red fruit. I would not want this any riper, but it will be lovely early on, without too much structure. Bottled in July Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted Nov 2024.

Ripe and juicy, this red exhibits cherry, raspberry and rose hip flavors. There’s an accent of earth interwoven, while dense, dusty tannins emerge on the long finish. Best from 2029 through 2048.

Notes

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "One of the lightest from this part of Nuits on quite a steep incline with lighter – not really any problems with wild pigs or deer but there’s competition for grapes with the badgers. A small terroir, less than 3 ha – Dufouleur, Dupaquier and Serveau (Bichot) plus our plot of about 1 ha of roughly 80-year-old vines – it’s a very draining and steep soil that works very well in warmer vintages.’ A more direct and fresh wine. Red berry and florals – quite different. Like the nose this is more direct, the cool-fruited energy is invigorating. Also a lovely texture here. Fading wider – really a lovely wine…"(01/2025)
