Note: from 4 different parcels in both climats aggregating .85 ha. Prominent petrol nuances push the aromas of acacia and lemon rind to the background today. More interesting are the sleek, precise and acceptably dense flavors that possess a highly attractive underlying tension that extends to the chiseled, youthfully austere and moderately compact finale. I like the delivery though they will need to develop more depth over time as it's somewhat one-dimensional at present.

The 2023 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with touches of dried peach, clementine, a little chalk and beeswax. The palate is well balanced on the entry with a keen thread of acidity. This has good body and grip, though I maybe seek a little more mineralité and terroir expression toward the finish. Certainly the 2022 will be the one to seek out, although this will have early drinkability.(NM)
