The 2024 Cantina Mesa "Giunco" Vermentino di Sardegna is a vibrant, coastal white produced in the unique, wind-swept Sulcis region of southwestern Sardinia. Vinified entirely in stainless steel with brief aging on its fine lees, it perfectly captures the wild, maritime character of its Mediterranean terroir. In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow color with subtle greenish highlights. The nose is highly expressive and energetic, bursting with citrus zest, white peach, and hints of tropical fruit, layered with distinct balsamic notes of wild Mediterranean scrub and a sharp whiff of briny iodine. On the palate, the wine is snappy and enveloping, balancing an oily, texturally satisfying mid-palate with a driving, vertical acidity and an intense, mineral-driven saltiness that dominates the finish.
