This is the only wine made in the easier to find 750-milliliter format. The 2013 Carnasciale (100% Caberlot grapes) is slightly less formal compared to the flagship wine made by this boutique estate. The is a dark and savory red wine with bold intensity and luscious, dark fruit. Plum, prune and blackberry open the bouquet. Those fruit tones are soon followed by spice, tobacco and garden herb. Like the other wines made at this isolated estate in the Val d'Arno, there is a touch of peppercorn that is found in all of Il Carnasciale's recent releases. (ML)
