Review Date: 11/2017The 2016 Vaudésir chez Michel is no bigger than the Vaulorent or Montée de Tonnerre this year, but finer and more detailed than either of those excellent wines. The complex and very pure nose wafts from the glass in a youthful blend of tart orange,. Pear, lime, kaleidoscopic minerality and a topnote of white lilies. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and racy in profile, with a fine core, superb mineral complexity and a long, vibrant and beautifully balanced finish. Fine juice in the making. (JG) 94+

Bright colour while remaining pale. An exuberant nose with some bacon spice, and something more succulent beneath. There is quite a rich texture to this but it does deliver all you could want and the saline acidity with some fresh apple notes at the back speaks well of Chablis.

Again there is mildly exotic element to the otherwise appealingly fresh nose that combines notes of both white and yellow orchard fruit that is liberally laced with iodine and quinine nuances. There is more size, weight and power to the medium-bodied flavors that retain a lovely sense of refinement before concluding in a balanced, lingering and more complex finale where a touch of minerality adds a sense of lift. Lovely stuff and I particularly like the gorgeous mouth feel.

100% on the north-facing side. A fresher wine from this warm Grand Cru site. Very attractive gently reductive nectarines and mangoes. Sweetly perfumed and full of energy. Mouthwatering. The palate has a very powerful, very composed and concentrated core of exotic fruits. Succulent. A joyride! Drink now.
