2005 Carpineta Fontalpino "Montaperto" Toscana
Notes
Carpineta Fontalpino’s Montaperto comes from vineyards around Montaperto in Castelnuovo Berardenga, a southern Chianti Classico zone farmed by Gioia and Filippo Cresti. The estate began in the early 1960s and works organically with indigenous yeasts, focusing on Sangiovese supported by smaller plantings of Gamay and Alicante. The site’s heavier southern soils and warmer conditions shape a more muscular profile. The 2005 Montaperto Toscana is a blend of 60% Sangiovese, 20% Gamay, and 20% Alicante, aged in barrique.
