Review Date: 08/2024The 2019 Transcendent showcases a beautiful black fruit profile with dusty currants, olive tapenade, and sagebrush notes. Full-bodied, it features very fine-grained tannins, with dark salted chocolate framed by a hint of blood orange citrus that keeps it fresh, light, and bright through the extended finish. The fruit is sourced from Mt. Veeder, Calistoga, and other select sites, aged in approximately 90-100% new oak. (JC)

Brought up in 90% new French oak, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Transcendent has lots of ripe red and black fruits and some graphite, leather, and savory notes that give way to a more structured, firmer wine that will hopefully open up with a few years in the cellar. I like its mid-palate as well as its overall balance, and this certainly has good potential. 92+
