Château Laffitte-Teston has been a fixture in Madiran since the 17th century, with the modern estate shaped by the Peyrusquet family beginning in the 1960s. Their vineyards sit on clay and limestone slopes in the village of Maumusson, an area known for giving Tannat both power and lift. Replanting and parcel selection in the 1980s and 1990s focused on Tannat with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentations take place in temperature-controlled tanks, followed by aging in a mix of stainless steel and French oak to manage the variety’s naturally firm tannins.
