Jacques Selosse "Lieux-dits-Ay La Côte Faron" Grand Cru Extra Brut
Notes
Jacques Selosse was shaped by Anselme Selosse’s pioneering work in the 1980s, when he pushed Champagne toward terroir expression through meticulous viticulture and oxidative élevage. The estate farms 7.5 hectares across Avize, Cramant, Oger, and Le Mesnil, all worked with low yields and organic principles to highlight chalk-driven intensity. Fermentations take place in oak barrels sourced from Burgundy, with long lees aging that builds texture and complexity. Each parcel is vinified separately, and the wines often undergo a solera-influenced aging regime that deepens their savory, nutty character. Dosage is kept low to preserve precision. Production remains tiny, and the wines are known for depth, tension, and a singular interpretation of Côte des Blancs Chardonnay.
