Burghound

Review Date: 01/2008

A subtle trace of crushed herb, anise, clove, dark berry fruit and warm earth merges into rich and round yet beautifully detailed medium-bodied flavors that display a supple mid-palate and a sappy, mouth coating and firm finish that offers excellent length. Very solid quality here and the close proximity to Musigny is evident in this example.

Int'l Wine Cellar

Review Date: 03/2008
Good medium red. Musky aromas of dark raspberry, mocha and flowers. Suave on entry, then silky and sweet in the middle, with a pliant texture for the vintage. Fine-grained, classy wine, with an aromatic, expanding finish. (ST)

Notes

Frédéric Magnien works with carefully selected parcels across Chambolle-Musigny, including the Les Borniques site. Here, limestone-rich soils and a cool continental climate shape a more delicate, perfumed style of Pinot Noir. The wine reflects this terroir with finesse, precision, and a clear sense of site.
