Red-ruby. Reduced nose suggests smoky black cherry and violet, with complicating nuances of meat and truffle (reminded me a bit of a Cote de Nuits wine): Sweet and seamless but a bit youthfully monolithic; dark fruit flavors seem much less evolved than the Fossati. This moderately deep midweight seems to be in a shell today; I wanted a bit more verve. Finishes with dusty, building tannins. (ST)

Notes

Enzo Boglietti works with fruit from Brunate, one of the most celebrated sites spanning La Morra and Barolo. The vineyard’s calcareous marl soils and prime southwest exposures promote full ripening while preserving structure. The result is a wine that reflects this iconic terroir with depth, balance, and a clear sense of place.
