Wine Spectator
Review Date: 04/2011This focused red shows real intensity, with blackberry, fig, dark chocolate and graphite flavors that drive through the midpalate, supported by firm, well-integrated tannins. Not thick or muscular, but balanced and long. (TM)

Asian spice, plum, licorice, and dried herb aromas and flavors all emerge from the 2008 Château De Ferrand. It's medium-bodied, fresh and lively on the palate, with good acidity and still-present tannin.
Notes
Château de Ferrand is perched on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, where shallow soils over bedrock define the terroir. The elevation and exposure provide good drainage and a naturally balanced growing environment. The result is a wine that reflects this Right Bank site with structure, freshness, and a clear sense of place.
