2008 Gravas, Sauternes (375ml)
Notes
Château Gravas has been a Barsac fixture since the early 1800s, run today by the Bernard family on a compact patch of limestone and gravel that naturally keeps yields modest. The site’s mix of porous rock and autumn humidity gives steady botrytis, so the team moves through the vines in several small passes, taking only clusters that show full concentration. Work in the cellar stays simple: cool fermentations in small lots, then a measured stretch in stainless steel and older French oak to keep the wine clean and focused. The scale is small, the approach is traditional, and the character comes straight from Barsac’s limestone plateau.
