2022 William Harrison Estate Rutherford Cabernet Franc
Review Date: 05/2026
This is Cabernet Franc with Napa confidence and just enough restraint to keep it compelling. Aromas of black raspberry, violets, graphite, and fresh tobacco rise from the glass, layered with subtle sage and Rutherford dust. The palate is plush and polished, but there’s a beautiful savory edge running underneath the dark fruit that keeps the wine from ever feeling heavy. Silky tannins and well-integrated oak give it a luxurious texture, while the finish lingers with notes of cocoa, herbs, and crushed stone. A deeply elegant take on Cabernet Franc that feels both powerful and refined at the same time.

Notes
William Harrison Vineyards & Winery is a small family estate in the Rutherford AVA of Napa Valley, founded by Bill Harrison, whose grandfather Antonio Perelli-Minetti was one of California's pioneering winemakers after immigrating from Italy in 1902. The seven-acre estate vineyard is planted to all five Bordeaux red varieties on Cortina series gravelly sandy loam soils against the eastern foothills of the Vaca Mountain range, with the first vintage produced under the Harrison label in 1993. After the winery recently changed hands, we acquired some of their wines at pennies on the dollar and we're passing the savings on to you! (Ryan Woodhouse - K&L Domestic Wine Buyer)
