2023 William Harrison "Sangiacomo Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay
Review Date: 05/2026
Fairly rich nose with golden apple, lemon, some green apple in the back, and a little bit of honeysuckle before sliding in the barrel notes and a really pleasant kind of plump roundness. The palate is crisp and just a little touch sharp in a way I'm really into right now, there's a depth and a richness here as well but no creaminess to amplify it, instead there's more focused fruit with underripe pineapple, golden and green apple, pithy lemon, and white flowers. There's a depth and a breadth here that for this price you really don't tend to get, and while there's no butter to back up the oak that's there, it's honestly just that much better of a wine to have with some food, but definitely it's got the chops just to be a chugger by the pool if you're so inclined. It's like a choose your own adventure book, but it's a bottle of wine and you already know the ending.

Notes
William Harrison is a small estate in Rutherford. With Bordeaux varietals growing on their estate, their Chardonnay is sourced from the Sangiacomo Family in the much cooler region of Carneros. This renowned grower produces some of the most sought-after Chardonnay in the region, supplying the biggest names in the business. After the winery recently changed hands, we acquired some of their wines at pennies on the dollar and we're passing the savings on to you! (Ryan Woodhouse - K&L Domestic Wine Buyer)
